Colossians 4:1-6

(Colossians 4:1-6)

Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.  Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.  Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

『 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:』 It means to continue praying. Prayer is the only spiritual conversation with God. So, in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, he said, "Pray without ceasing." But what should I pray for? Jesus taught the main content of prayer. So say it is the Lord's prayer. In summary, the Lord's Prayer is to pray for the kingdom of God on earth and to find the lost sheep to achieve the kingdom of God. Jesus prayed earnestly to be one. When those who have left God return to God, they become one with God. Prayer should be a prayer to get rid of those who interfere with unity. Satan is the one who interferes. So, pray for God's power to help you defeat Satan. It is not to pray for the blessing of this world, but for the expansion of the kingdom of God, so that we can remove obstacles.

When God removes Satan's distraction, the door to evangelism finally opens. That is why we tell the mystery of Christ. Christ's secret is to save the Spirit. In John 6:63, it is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 』 It is the purpose that Jesus came to the earth as the Messiah. So for those who repent and return to God, Jesus made the ransom death on the cross. Those who die in union with Jesus who died on the cross will be saved by God. It is Satan's deception to say that if you believe in Jesus without repentance, you will be saved. If you accept Jesus, you will be saved. The only way to be saved is to repent and the old man die with Jesus. Salvation is a narrow road.

『Always, like the flavoring of salt in grace.” In Matthew 5:13, 『Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 』

Salt used in food does not lose its saltiness. However, the meaning behind losing the saltiness in the Bible means "to become dry and to lose meaning." God's covenant was meaningless to Israel. Because Israel broke God's covenant. Israel crucified and killed the Messiah, rejecting God's promises. Because they lose their taste, they were thrown out and trampled on by people.

So Paul teaches that the saints must have a clear identity. If the identity of a Christian is not clear, there will be no difference from the people of the world. The identity of Christ is that although the body lives in this world, it is not a person in this world, but a person in heaven. The heavenly man does not love this world. So, in people, their identity is to influence people as salt melts, and to bring them back to God.

Colossians 1:13-14

Colossians 2:8-12

(Colossians 2:8-12) 『 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
