Colossians 3:1-4

(Colossians 3:1-4)

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.


『For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ,” To die is buried with Christ. So, God resurrects the dead with Christ. 『By resurrection, we are born again.』 Through the resurrection of Jesus, those who believe are also born again. Many church people think of regeneration as a mental action. So they think they have to do something hard to reach the holy state. If you think so, you will only build up your own righteousness. However, being born again refers to the spiritual body that was received as a parent and crucified with Jesus on the cross and reborn from heaven.

Being born again means a spiritual body. This body becomes the body of the spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:44.『It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.』 You cannot be born again unless you are united with Jesus' death. If you are not buried with Jesus, you cannot live in resurrection life. If there is no resurrection life, God's image “spirit” remains dead, and “soul” is the master. That is why Jesus said to deny himself. The word "in Christ" does not apply unless buried with Jesus. Nothing is happening.

In James 1:18『 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. 』 Truth means Jesus. Jesus was the first to die on the cross and was buried and resurrected in three days. It is to die with Jesus Christ and be born again in Christ. So, with the word of truth, it is born again as a new life.

『 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 』Without a new life associated with Jesus Christ, you cannot be saved. The new life is the resurrection life, and the Lord is with you. Otherwise, it is only the object of wrath. You can only live if you deny the old man you received from your parents and go to the resurrection life from God. This is the life of the born again. Those who have been born again are not the ones who have changed their hearts, but are reborn with water and the Holy Spirit. The old man dies in the water and is resurrected as a spiritual body by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is the resurrection life. The resurrection life requires the dead spirit to survive. The spirit must enter a spiritual body to enter the kingdom of God. The spirit is trapped in the body contaminated with sin and dies. The Sadducees asked Jesus what would happen if the body died. In Matthew 22:29-30『 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 』

In the resurrection, the spirit wears a spiritual body. It is the present state of the born again. Those who are born again believe that they have been resurrected with a spiritual body. That is why God's image is restored. If we are not born again, we become dead to God. In James 2:26, 『For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. 』When the spirit dies, the relationship with God is broken, so you become a dead person. If you are not born again, you will be like this. The faith of the born again is evidenced by his fruits.

Colossians 2:8-12

(Colossians 2:8-12) 『 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
